Monday's are awesome

At PetDoors.com we want to get to the point where we are open everyday. It would allow us to better help our customers and would also make it a great place to work for Cal Poly students since we could give them more schedule flexibility. Several months ago I switched my schedule to Tuesday to Sunday and it's pretty great. Monday's can be a little hectic and now I have peaceful Saturdays to focus on deeper problems with fewer distractions.

Another Saturday benefit is that I can sleep in a little and surf in the morning on a "weekday" by rocking a 12 to 9 shift. This also means that Mondays are free to hang out with the wife in Morro after surfing The Rock with only a weekday crowd. Today we went to our new favorite coffee shop in Morro Bay, the Coffee Cottage.

Boomerang site

It's been fun to see the progress my wife's company YV Analytics has made for the website of the famous Experimental Aircraft, the Boomerang. The website was on the Joomla platform but has been relaunched using WordPress. There was also a "learning experience" about subdomains but in the end it is coming around nicely.

It's a pretty crazy, a-symmetric plane.

New project: motorized beach cruiser

Since my brother will be living nearby for a bit, for a Christmas/birthday/random present I got him a beach cruiser and a bike motor kit to add an 80cc motor to it.

We'll see how it goes. The best written Amazon review said it was a 16-24 work hour project.

Hours worked: 1
Worked on: watched installation video, reread through Amazon reviews, checked to see if I had all the parts, realized the beach cruiser I bought has a 3-speed internal gear hub with an incompatible diameter for my motor. I'll need to replace the rear wheel before I can get started.

Also need to get some brakes, will look into buying a cheap used bike just for its rear wheel and brakes.
